Thermal Stability (±0.1°C)

Peltier-driven thermocycling elements reaching extreme ramp rates.

Overview

Molecular amplification strategies like PCR and LAMP require absolute thermal precision. A variance of even 0.5°C during the annealing phase can cause severe target dropout and false negatives.

Architecture & Design

The BiQadx thermal block is constructed from highly thermally conductive silver alloy, driven by quad-Peltier thermoelectric coolers. Temperature is monitored via highly sensitive thin-film NTC thermistors physically embedded 0.2mm from the reaction chamber. An advanced PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) control loop manages power distribution, enabling ramp rates of 8°C/s without overshooting the target by more than 0.1°C.
